Come a new year we start fresh, the past is the past & we seem to focus on getting on with the future part. We throw out old things, let go of old habits, but we should also let go of certain people who hold certain traits.
The “no effort” people- You know the ones. Who never call you, who never text you, who never make plans to see you. The ones where you question if you didn’t make the effort would you even be friends? Relationships & friendships should be 50/50 effort. If you find yourself being the only one picking up the phone, checking in, making plans – then let them people go. Life’s too short to be spending it with people who cannot give you the same efforts you dish out. It’s hurtful & exhausting. We all get the same 24 hours in a day, if you can make time, so can they. When people really care & are actually interested in you, they will show it. End of.
The “negative nellys” – This world can be negative enough..having negative people in your circle will soon affect you & your own happiness. If they can’t snap out of their negative ways, then do yourself a favour & walk away…your happiness is crucial – don’t let others tear you down.
The “un-supportive” ones – People who do not support your dreams or your passions. Whether people understand them or not, the ones who love you will support you 100%. You know the saying right? “If they don’t support you during your struggles, don’t let them be apart of your success”
The ones who make you question your worth & who unappreciate you – Whether in friendships or relationships, you should never ever feel like you are not good enough or question your worth. You should not have to prove your worth or yourself. For who you are should be accepted & valued – no questions asked. If someone doesn’t make you feel worthy, valued & appreciated cut em loose.
The rude – People who make horrible remarks, who are blunt & say hurtful things, whether to you or others. No one in your life should be speaking to you in a rude manner & if they are, they certainly should not be getting away with it. People who respect you, will never dream of being disrespectful towards you. On the flip side, do not surround yourself others who put other people down. That saying – “The person who is nice to you, but rude to the waiter is not a nice person” speaks volumes.
Make a conscious effort to surround yourself with positive, nourishing and uplifting people. People who believe in you, encourage you to go after your dreams and applaud your victories. The people who match what you bring to the table. The people who make you smile, happy & feel loved.
